About Us

Jason Curts has a BS in Journalism from the University of Florida. During his career Jason has written for newspapers and magazines, as well as created content for websites and marketing materials.

A recent endeavor with the consulting firm Patton McDowell & Associates opened up JLC Writing Services to the nonprofit sector. The rewarding aspects of work with nonprofits has become a driving force in making sure Jason stays on the cutting edge of social media and content solutions.

JLC Writing Services has a virtual office in Indian Trail – a suburb of the ever-growing Queen City – Charlotte, NC. Jason and his wife, Christy enjoy listening to live music, caring for their two cats (Allie & CK) and taking their dog, Riley, to the park to explore. When he isn’t writing for his clients, Jason can be found writing random thoughts at his blog – Ditch Chicken.

  • Where do you take visitors in Charlotte?

We have our go-to’s – NoDa Brewing Company, VBGB, Pizza Peel – can you tell we love to eat and drink? We want to hear what […]
  • Oh Hello Wine…I Remember You!
It’s been a long time since I last sat down and had a few glasses of wine at dinner,  and then continued drinking into the evening. We’ve been on a craft beer kick, which is easy when you have so many amazing places in Charlotte to find something new every trip into town. But there […]
  • Adventures await!
Our blog is supposed to be about our food and drink adventures, but we haven’t been overly adventurous lately.   The warmer weather has sparked the growth of some organisms in our yard that are best described as what you would get if you crossed a dandelion and Jabba the Hutt,  so we’ve been forced to work in […]
